PasteKit ("we," "our," or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how PasteKit handles your information when you use our clipboard management application available on iOS, iPadOS, and macOS.

Information We Collect

Data You Provide

When you use PasteKit, you create and store:

• Clipboard Items: Text content you choose to save
• Notes: Optional descriptions you add to clipboard items
• Tags: Labels you create to organize your content
• Usage Data: Information about how often you use specific clipboard items (stored locally)

Data We Don't Collect

• ✗ Personal information
• ✗ Device identifiers
• ✗ Location data
• ✗ Analytics or tracking
• ✗ Usage statistics

How We Store Your Data

Your Private iCloud

All clipboard data is stored exclusively in your personal iCloud account:

• Data is encrypted using Apple's iCloud encryption
• Data syncs between your devices using iCloud
• Data is never stored on our servers (we don't have any servers)
• Data never leaves Apple's ecosystem

Local Storage

• A local copy of your data is stored on your device in the App Group container
• This allows the keyboard extension to access your clipboard items
• Local data is protected by iOS/macOS system security

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely for app functionality:

• Displaying: Show your saved clipboard items in the app
• Syncing: Synchronize data across your Apple devices via iCloud
• Organizing: Enable tag-based organization and search
• Pasting: Allow quick access to clipboard items via keyboard extension (iOS only)

We do NOT:

• Analyze your data
• Share your data with third parties
• Use your data for advertising
• Sell your data to anyone

Keyboard Extension (iOS Only)

Why We Need "Allow Full Access"

The PasteKit keyboard extension requests "Allow Full Access" permission to:

• Read clipboard content when you add items
• Access your saved clipboard items stored in App Group
• Open the main app from the keyboard

What We Don't Do

Even with "Allow Full Access," we do NOT:

• Track your typing
• Record keystrokes
• Send data over the network from the keyboard
• Access data from other apps

Data Security

Encryption

• All data synced via iCloud is encrypted with Apple's encryption
• We use Apple's secure App Group container for data sharing
• No data is transmitted to any external servers

Access Control

• Only you have access to your data
• Data is protected by your iCloud account credentials
• No one else, including us, can access your clipboard items

Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do NOT share your data with:

• Third-party analytics companies
• Advertising networks
• Data brokers
• Any other third parties

There are NO third-party services integrated in PasteKit.

Your Rights and Choices

Data Access

You have full access to all your data within the app.

Data Deletion

You can delete your data at any time:

• Individual Items: Swipe to delete in the app
• All Data: Delete the app from your device or disable iCloud for PasteKit in Settings

Data Export

• macOS: Use "Export Data to Files" feature to save as JSON
• This gives you a complete backup of all your clipboard items

Disable Sync

• iOS: Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Toggle off PasteKit
• macOS: System Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Toggle off PasteKit

Children's Privacy

PasteKit does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. The app is rated 4+ and is safe for all ages.

Changes to Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:

• Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
• Posting the new policy in the app (if significant changes)

Your continued use of PasteKit after changes indicates acceptance of the updated policy.

California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

• Know what personal information is collected: None
• Request deletion of personal information: Delete the app
• Opt-out of data selling: We don't sell any data

European Users (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area:

• Legal Basis: We process data based on your consent (using the app)
• Data Controller: You control your own data in your iCloud
• Data Processor: Apple (iCloud)
• Right to Access: You have full access in the app
• Right to Deletion: Delete items or the app anytime
• Right to Portability: Use the export feature (macOS)

According to Apple's App Privacy labels:

• User Content: Your clipboard items, notes, and tags
• Usage: Which items you use frequently (stored locally only)
• Not Linked to You: All data stays in your iCloud, not linked to you by us
